玄空秘旨 Xuan Kong Mi Zi

Since last article has introduced this 《玄空秘旨 Xuan Kong Mi Zi》 clasical literature for xuan kong fengshui study reference, I would like to remind here that there are two versions available, one version was recorded in the Ching Dynasty Xuan Kong master Zheng Zhong Shen 章仲山's book《心眼指要 xin yan zhi yao》, commonly used and refer to nowadays. Another version already existed at much earlier time than Zheng's version.

Just from the begining several sentences of both.versions (see below) can.see.the differences already. There are other differences in several writtings.and contents between both,. Nevertheless both drive to the same xuan kong principles.

Zheng's version
不知來路，焉得入路，盤中八卦皆空。
未識內堂，焉識外堂，局中五行盡錯。
乘氣脫氣，轉禍福於指掌之間。
左挨右挨，辯吉凶於毫芒之際。
一天星斗，運用隻在中央。
千瓣蓮花，根蒂生於點滴。

Older version
不知變易，但知不易，九星八卦皆空﹔
不識三般，那識兩片，凡屬五行盡錯﹔
顛之倒之，轉禍福於指掌之間﹔
左挨右挨，辯吉凶於毫芒之際﹔
一天星斗，運用隻在中央﹔
九曜干支，旋轉由乎北極。

Xuan Kong master Zheng Zhong Shen 章仲山's book《心眼指要 xin yan zhi yao》

Below is an English translation for the several sentences in the beginning of the older version, which give meaningful and inspiring guidances.

Older version :
不知變易，但知不易，九星八卦皆空﹔ 不識三般，那識兩片，凡屬五行盡錯﹔

Without the "change" (flexibility, variety) nature of Yi 易, but only know at its unchangeable side/way for application, then the subsequent use of 9 stars and 8 trigrams would become empty (invalid, ineffective, or just empty talk).
不知變易，但知不易，九星八卦皆空﹔ 

Without the knowledge of "San Ban "三般 (here refer to the San Ban Gua 三般卦)，would be unable to know the correct theory/use of Liang Bian 兩片 (eg. 陰陽，正負，雌雄。。), then the apply of the relative 5 elements would be completely wrong.
不識三般，那識兩片，凡屬五行盡錯﹔ 

San Ban Gua 三般卦 was originated in an ancient feng shui literature 《Tian Yu Jing 天玉經》which is highly regarded as one of the bibles for San Ho and San Yuan streams. This literature says：

天地父母"三般卦"，時師未曾話，玄空大卦神仙說，本是此經訣。。。識得父母"三般卦"，便是真神路，北斗七星去打劫，離宮要相合。

《San Ming Tong Hui 三命通會》- control , dissolve of 5 element 五行制化

Recently while browsing through the classical literature 《San Ming Tong Hui 三命通會》found a small chapter titled "control , dissolve of 5 element 五行制化" worthy for introducing here.

五行制化

When weak wood (daymaster) meets strong fire running on the west direction (da yun EB = 申，酉，戍), its life would be fragile and unable to last long.
木衰火旺復行西，天年夭折。

When cold water (daymaster) meets freezing metal running on north durection (da yun EB = 亥，子，丑), it would be a drifting lonely life.
水冷金寒兼拱北，身世浮沉。

When spring 甲 Jia wood (strong) and autumn 乙Yi wood (weak) meet with stacks of “OF , 6K“ (正官，七煞), would consider as for good perspectives.
甲春乙秋，偏宜官煞重疊。

When 丙 Bing fire in 卯 Mao month 卯月, such resource (DR 正印) would be unable to provide any feeding support (light up the fire) .
丙火卯月，難資印綬生扶。

Too much water into unmanageable scenario would lead to bladder illnesses.
水繁而不制，病生于膀胱。

Too much metal with no dissolve (dissolution) would lead to throat illnesses.
金繁而不化，疾在於喉舌。

Little talk about 《Zi Bai Jue 紫白訣》

《Zi Bai Jue 紫白訣》is a commonly considered as one of the must-read classical literature for San Yuan 三元 feng shui practitioners and followers. Though saying so, San Ho 三合 派 feng shui stream has long histoty for incorporating the《Zi Bai Jue 紫白訣》into their methodology, that was the reason this literature being included into the San Ho classical fengshui book named 《Yang Zhai Ji Cheng 陽宅集成》written in Ching.Dynasty.

The essence of the 《Zi Bai Jue 紫白訣》can be seen from the first several sentences at the beginning:

紫白飛宮，辨生旺退煞之用。
三元分運，判盛衰興廢之時。
生旺宜與，運未來而仍替。
退煞當廢，運方交而尚榮。
總以氣運為之君，而吉凶隨之變化。

The above sentences could be translated into English as follows:

Zi-Bai flies over the palaces (9 palaces), would enable the differentiation of 生 (Create, Light-up) 旺 (Prosperous) 退 (Retreat, Drawback) 煞 (Destroy, Killing) energies into use.
紫白飛宮，辨生旺退煞之用。

San Yuan 三元 are further split into Yun 運，so as to judge the timing period of 盛 (Boom) ,  衰 (weak), 興 (Rise-up), 廢 (Abandon, Obsolete)
三元分運，判盛衰興廢之時。 

The Zi-Bai 生旺directions are better at the timely Yuan. If not at timely Yuan would not trigger the advantages.
生旺宜與，運未來而仍替。

The Zi-Bai 退煞 directions should be abandoned, however if they are at the timely Yuan, would be still of the benefits.
退煞當廢，運方交而尚榮。

In conclusion, Yuan is the master key to drive the good or bad，luck or disaster accordingly.
總以氣運為之君，而吉凶隨之變化。
